Overview
An excellent opportunity to join a well-established finance consultancy as a Senior Accountant. You will lead a small team of accounts professionals, managing a diverse portfolio of SME clients across Cumbria. This is a key role offering genuine progression into a management position as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of SME client accounts and act as the primary point of contact
- Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns
- Supervise and mentor a team of two junior accountants
- Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients and ensure regulatory compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve client financial processes and reporting
- Assist with business development by building relationships with prospective clients
Requirements
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in practice
- Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation and financial reporting standards
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
- Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
