Overview
North West Tech Services is looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract basis. You will provide 2nd and 3rd line support to a range of enterprise clients across Cumbria, troubleshooting complex technical issues and managing infrastructure projects. Strong potential for contract extension based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support to enterprise clients
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across Windows environments
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 administration
- Support virtualisation platforms including VMware and Hyper-V
- Assist with infrastructure upgrade projects and migrations
- Document technical solutions and maintain knowledge base articles
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in an IT support or systems administration role
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Azure basics
- Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco are desirable
- Full UK driving licence (client site visits required)
